Floris Egide Emile Jespers (Borgerhout 18 maart 1889 - Antwerpen 16 april 1965).
Belgian painter, etcher and glasspainter an renomated Flemish expressionist was the brother of sculptor Oscar Jespers.
During 1900-1909 he followed lessons on several levels at theKoninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Antwerp where he became student of Franz Courtens. From 1909 untill 1914 he studied at the Nationaal Hoger Instituut voor Schone Kunsten te Antwerpen, and participated in several movements that propagated the modern arts movements in Belgium: ‘Sélection', ‘L'art vivant', ‘Kunst van Heden'. After his graduation he hooked up with the poet Paul Van Ostaijen and joined the Antwerp avant-garde movement of the 1920s.
