Blue Delft Tulipvase
This heart-shaped flower vase has a fan-like array of five sprouts alternating with ruyi decoration between the sprouts. The sprouts have a bananaleaf decoration which is derived from the Chinese Kangxi Style (1662-1722). The heart-shaped body with s-scroll handles depicts a puto amidst flowers.
Heart-shaped flower vases with a similar decoration often depict the LVE monogram from Lambertus van Eenhoorn, owner of the Metaale Pot factory. This particular tulipvase is unfortunately not signed.
