Antique Door Frame

This wonderfull door frame is carved in a style that caracterizes the way the French Rococo style was translated into the wealthy canalhouses in Amsterdam. Frivolous but quite thick foliate scrolls adorn the corners and bottoms of the frame. By this the whole frame has a very organic appearence. The rich rocaille-ornament at the centre of the top encrows the rich passage to another room.
