The fluted rectangular tapering backplate is decorated with carved foliage and a central rosette surmounted by an antique vase festooned with laurel-wreath swags. Above the rosette three acanthus leeves issueing the three acanthus-scroll reeded S-shaped light-arms holding the urn-shaped *bobèches*.
These magnificent Wall-Lights, also referred to as **Wall Appliques**, are manufactured in a very rich **Louis XVI-style** which was very beloved in the age of *Historism*.
