A Plaque in Blue Delft Earthenware

Depicting the Parable of the `Prodigal Son´ as in Luke 15: 13"Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living." We can see elegantly dressed men shaking hands and climbing on their horses and a woman on a platform.

In the collection of the Rijksmuseum is an Amsterdam Earthenware serving tray ( inv.nr. BK-14557) which depicts the same decoration. This tray is also published in *Vormen uit Vuur* on page 61. Although the details differ slightly, the paintings are obviously derrived from the same print.
