Flemish or French, late XVIIth Century, Louis XIV style.
A very good large walnut armchair with slightly slanted rectangular backrest and padded seat. With floral carved scrolled arms finishing in 'bec de corbin'. On block and spooled turned legs linked by a 'H' shaped stretcher. The chair upholstered in fine wool tapestry copying the famous 'La Dame à Licorne' from the early XVIth century, in the Paris Cluny Museum ( probably XIXth Century jacquard loom work ). The wood has a nice warm patina.
