An Oil and Vinegar Set in Blue and White Dutch Delftware
The pear-shaped jugs with their sprout are derived from Japanese **oil and vinegar sets** of 1660-1680. The jug bodies and the holder are decorated with chinoiserie figures sitting in a landscape.
Technique: high fire technique, monochrome blue. The letters A and O inside the holder on the jugs stand for Azijn (vinegar) and Olie (oil).
