These kind of cases were made in China for the Western (Dutch) market and are sometimes mounted with the initials of the former owner.

Rectangular model trimmed with brass edges and nails. With brass mounts and handles. This kind of travel chests were produced in China for the Dutch market. Some copies are in the inside with beautiful paper lining. The lid is often fitted with the initials of the owner. The timber of campherwood is soft and spongy with a grey colour and a strong smell.
