Jan Cornelis Mension (Delft I I maart 1882 - Delft 2 mei 1950). Lived and worked in Den Hague, Delft and Belgium, among which Brugge. Mension was a student of F. Helfferich at the Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in Den Haag to the control of Frans Jansen. Mension made paintings, drawings, etchings and lithography´s of landscapes and town views but espacially of animals including monkees, mice, birds and wild animals He was also handdrawingassistant at the Technische Hoogeschool te Delft. Mension was a member of 'Arti et Amicitiae' at Amsterdam, 'Pulchri Studio' in Den Hague and of the Kunstkring 'Delft'. He became the teacher of D. J. van Arurn, C. A. Cocheret, IC. A. Feldmann and A. S. Hendriks. The Centraal Museum Utrecht own his work `Twee meerkatten' dated 1923.
